The United States District Court for the District of Colorado has nominated Nina Y. Wang to replace Magistrate Judge Boyd N. Boland, the current incumbent, who will retire effective February 8, 2015. Ms. Wang’s appointment is subject to a required background investigation. To facilitate this nomination, the Court appointed a seven member Magistrate Judge Selection Panel that reviewed submissions received from 60 applicants. From this applicant pool, the Selection Panel made its recommendation to the Court of the five candidates it determined most qualified to serve. Each of these five candidates was interviewed by the judges of the court (District and Magistrate) who thereafter made a unanimous nomination.
