Reporting for Jury Duty

The summons mailed to you identifies your reporting location, includes a map of the courthouse, and contains parking information. Please bring your jury summons and a photo ID to enter the courthouse. Cameras, recording devices and weapons of any kind are not permitted in the courthouse. Smart phones are permitted.

Jury duty can commence as early as 7 a.m., and it is important that you report on time. Most jury selections take place on Mondays, but you could be directed to report on a different weekday. You may wish to bring reading material for occasional delays. The selection process often lasts until lunch time. If you are not selected to be a juror, you will be permitted to leave after all selections for the day are completed.

If you are selected as a juror, you can expect to remain at the courthouse for the full day. Please make tentative arrangements for childcare, business and personal appointments in advance. Most trials allow for breaks mid-morning and mid-afternoon, as well as a lunch break.
