Legislative History

June 26, 1876

19 Stat. 61

Congress organized Colorado as one judicial district, authorized one judgeship for the U.S. District Court, and assigned the district to the Eighth Circuit. The act became effective upon the admission of the State of Colorado on August 1, 1876.

Congress assigned the District of Colorado to the newly-organized Tenth Circuit.
